    • Unfamiliar Environment: Traveling to new locations also means having to adapt to new work and local environments, new co workers, and new processes. Although this can indeed be intimidating, If you show confidence in your abilities, in most cases, you’ll be able to adapt within a few days.

However, it will allow you to meet an abundance of new people, cultures, and personalities. Understanding this is critical coming into the industry. This will help to ensure that travel doesn’t put a strain on your personal life.
    • The Pay: In today’s economy, everyone would love the opportunity to get ahead and become financially stable. The pay for travel work, is nothing less than exceptional, and substantially higher than the average rate. Whether it’s paying off debt, saving for something you’ve always wanted, or just to have an extra cushion in your account, travel pay will indeed open up the opportunity to accomplish these goals.

  • In most cases, traveling is not allowed until you have at least one year experience. However, you can apply after 6-9 months of experience. This year long cushion will be beneficial in giving you room to grow within your field and allow you to gain confidence in your abilities.

  • Many hospitals will enforce what is known as “The Radius Rule”. This rule states that the traveler must live a certain distance from their facility. Oftentimes, a distance of 50 miles is the requirement. However, this distance can vary from 40 to 200 miles, depending on the facility. Also, living nearby could affect your pay rate.

  • The initial, and standard industry contract is 13 weeks. However, the assignment can vary from as little as 2 weeks, to years. It’s dependent on the need of the facility.

  • The short answer is yes! Whether it be just you and your partner, or even bringing the kids, and pets along is perfectly fine. Every family is unique and will require different needs. The important thing is ensuring everyone that you’ll be constantly adjusting to new environments.

  • Although you'll be working at the facility location, your employer will be “Moore Medical Solutions LLC”. However, it will be expected for the travel staff to adhere to the policies, and regulations of the facility, as it relates to work environment professionalism and patient safety.

  • Your recruiter will be able to send you some locations that are near your facility, as well as housing app suggestions.

    • Start planning for your next assignment about 4-6 weeks before your contract ends, if you plan to work back to back contracts.
    • Plan your vacation, if you’re taking time off between contracts
    • Make sure that your insurance will rollover, after competing an assignment
    • Plan a going away gathering with your co workers
    • Start to pack your belongings a little early. This gives you room to make any adjustments if your item load has increased.
    • Get your deposit back if applicable, for your housing and reference letter.
